Thanks for the info looks like it may be YMMV depending on location, I see those as $30 but some others are regular price at $55. I'm not sure how to edit the thread title.

One store near me has it for $35 but Kokomo is kind of a ways away to save a few bucks on oil.

I just looked at 12 QT 0W-40 only and the price per QT it's not any better than if I buy 5QT bottle.
So no great deal there.

Yes the boxes are sold straight to customers, they're usually on a display somewhere in the automotive section of the store, this isn't bulk oil for the Auto Care Center.

I've seen the new boxes of motor oil. The per quart price is great.
But having to transfer it to another container just to use it seems a pain.
I am not a shop; the 5 quart jugs are easy to buy, store and use.
I might try a box after my stash dwindles...

It's actually worse because the 5 quart jugs qualify for the Mobil 1 $10 rebate, but the 12 quart box isn't on their rebate form. I suppose you could call and ask though.

I was able to find this at a local WM for $12 per box and I posted in the other thread about the M1 & ST boxes. I submitted the rebate this morning using the 5 qt option. We will see if it gets rejected. thumbsup

Unfortunately if you buy M1 from Amazon or Wally you re not eligible for rebate. Those two are not on M1 list of participating retailers.
All other places on that list have it usually for higher price so even with rebate you might be paying about the same as on Amazon or Walmart,

Saw these boxes at my local WalMart, $56.00!! This worked out to $.02 a quart MORE than the 5 quart containers. But at least the Euro 0W-40 was back in both formats.

IMO opinion it would take more than "saving" $20 to drive from Muncie to Kokomo.

make the inside of your engine oil cap white.
don't use.
