Strange I suppose, but it's the truth. I'd be fine giving up driving and owning a car if I could. We have a county wide public transport system here called "c.a.r.t.s", which usually transports the handicapped and elderly, but anyone can use it. Of course we also have ride share services like uber and Lyft. I dont get out much, except for going to work, buying groceries and running errands. Occasionally I'll go somewhere, but it isn't necessary that I do. I get tired of having to pay for car insurance and gas, plus the task is just not something I really care about anymore. Guess I wouldn't have a need for motor oil any longer either. 🤷‍♀️

But then you can always ponder about what oil would be the best for the CART vehicle you are riding in.

I'm 28, but I have always felt much older. I swear I am a senior citizen who was placed in the wrong body.

I have a 28 year old nephew who has no interest in cars either. He has a car, but rarely drives it. He moved close enough to his work so that he could walk a quarter mile to-from work. His Dad has had a long line of performance and exotic cars. He doesn't care about them in the least. I have owned performance cars and motorcycles for all of my adult life. Been involved in professional racing. He has no interest in any of that.

I don't think it's necessarily an age thing. Everyone just has different interests. If you don't want to drive, then don't.

I’m retired and every retirement planner will tell you to cut back to one car. Sounds good but I’m 6’2” and the wife is barely 5 foot. She drives with the seat all the way forward and up, I drive the exact opposite. I don’t think it’ll work, we’d wear out the power seat in a year!
What has changed is I don’t give a darn about what I drive anymore, so my next vehicle will be an inexpensive car, not a truck. I’m thinking Fit, Corolla, something like that.
I suspect the car after that will be no car .
Having said all that, the new GF6 oils are looking mighty fine ...... Coffee

When I reach that point, I'd rather have one of my four kids pry my car keys from my wrinkled, gnarly hands.

I work on cars for a living. I used to like cars, but the novelty has worn away for me. I still need the independence of driving and owning a car for the time being, but perhaps one day I won't.

I did too. I got into that line of work, because of my interest in cars and bikes. Then after years of working for dishonest management at several entities, I became disillusioned with the business, and started my own unrelated business.

If I had stayed in consumer car repair, I could see me having lost interest in cars long ago. Maybe a change in career would do you good, like it did me.

I never wanted to start driving. What I do now is drive as needed.

That's pretty much what I do now. I wish I didn't have to drive that much.

I'm definitely just going through the motions in this line of work. I dont really know what else I'd do though. I can't see myself finding contentment in anything really. Sometimes I think about quitting and just getting a job stocking shelves at a grocery store, or something of that nature. Just a job.

More and more young people today have no interest in cars or driving. I know a number of people who had to force their teenagers to get their license. From an early age I was interested in cars and knew every make. In the 60's me and everyone I knew couldn't wait to get our liscense. It meant freedom and the ability to get laid. Young guys now days don't seem too interested in that. They are content to live at home into adulthood. We couldn't wait until we had the ability to move out of our parents home.
To this day I like driving although not in heavy rush hour traffic. My whole career involved outside sales and driving. My back reminds me every day of that.
