Where I live we have been through three range fires in the last 10 yrs. I always wondered if it effected the strength of barbed wire due to the fire burning off the zinc coating and due to the fact I have around over four miles of fence to maintain not including the cross fencing. Apparently it doesn't effect the strength in this study.

I doubt there is much issue. There is plenty of rusted barbed wire fence out in the country side. Rarely see any come apart. If cattle want out, they get out.

It will stretch by annealing. In Kansas we had to restretch or replace the wire after a range fire.

Of course, down there in the Flint Hills fires are purposely set every few years to get new growth and to add carbon to the soil.

It depends on how hot the wire got from the fire. Roughly speaking, the wire would have to get red hot to affect its material properties.

I wouldn't expect zinc to be affected by fire. It's not an organic coating like paint.
