When the manufacturer engineers said oil was too important to be left to the mechanics 50 years ago, they might have been right. But today, oil is too important to be left to engineers. They have neither the time, the training, nor the inclination for long term engine wear past the warranty expiration period!

I first became aware of this during the physical act of starting a car with 200,000 miles.

Wait til they come out with 0W0. Then they'll call it Quantum Zero or Superposition Zero because it's both a zero weight and has weight at the same time.
