does the type of vii (vm) used in today's engine oil dependent upon the base oil (syn, blend of conventional)?

My question is not about which type of vii is better than others ...

basically can a company use the same vm in their synthetic as well as their dino line? Any issues with chemical incompatibility (polymeric molecules), etc.?

You would think plastic is plastic but I am not a chemist . what about performance? Can one kind of vm perform better in one base oil as oppose to other?

if it doesn't have a simple yes answer, it may fall under MolaKule's department LOL

Add packages seem similar at the price point levels and there are different qualities of Viscosity improvers.

I did a bunch of search and didn't found anything as far as incompatibility ...
However, it seems like companies may use a better vii in their top oil. maybe top of the line extended oil gets a better vii but that doesn't mean it can't be used in their conventional oils. Just a guess not sure.
