Gel Batteries

I now understand(I believe) the differences between Lead Acid, AGM & Gel batteries.

What IDK is, do Gel Batteries have lead plates in them, absorbent glass matting or could they have EITHER(price, quality level dependent)?

Gel batteries can be of normal lead acid construction but with a thickened electrolyte. There are also versions with glass matting separators in which case they are a GEL/AGM hybrids. I have had a hybrid battery on my motorcycle for 6 years and the performance has been excellent,
