There were crates of these things at my local thrift shop a few years back. $1.00 each in a box of 12. For twelve bucks, what the heck? Never bothered to cut one open as I never had the need to use one. Must be some kind of bargain-basement jobber filters. The can is fairly heavy gauge steel and the base plate is super heavy. The filter media looked ok - it didn't tear when I tugged on it. The glue was not pliable, but crumbly and broke off when chipped at with my finger. The anti-drainback was very wavy and deformed - not sure it would have kept oil from leaving the filter.

Overall, not sure if this is a bargain or Chinese junk. I'm leaning towards the latter as there is no way I'm risking putting these on my vintage Honda CRX.

Enjoy the pics!
