Obtained this directly from the Kinder-Morgan facility where we load fuel. Techron additive injection rate as it gets loaded...

Example:

Prem 4951 - 5400 gallons gets 12 quarts Techron

More. The rate is adding the same amount to fewer gallons of gas, so the result is a higher concentration.

So is this the same Techron you buy off the shelf, or is it a more concentrated solution? Is this to reach EPA minimum or is this the blend rate for Chevron top tier fuel?

The stations in my area have only a regular and a premium storage tank. Their mid-grade fuels are drawn from each tank to give the mid-grade octane.

It's odd that this paper shows a mix ratio for each different grade. I suppose in other areas of the country the fuel is distributed differently.

I would assume that they (Kinder-Morgan) are delivering the gasoline to various gas station brands?
Does this mean that they all use Chevron (techron) additive regardless of brand?

Since no alcohol premium costs me $.80 more, they should include more additives. Glad is only for motorcycle and lawn equip.

What makes it odd? It works as designed. Obviously a lower mix rate regular is mixed with a higher mix rate of premium to produce mid-grade. The final additive mix rate of the mid-grade would automatically fall somewhere in the middle...same as the octane rating.

This sheet is ONLY for Chevron gasoline.

It has to be a commercial grade concentrate. No way they're telling consumers to add 1oz per gallon, but then dosing a station's tank at a minimum concentration of .06oz (rounded) per gallon. You're talking roughly 16 times less concentration at the pump as compared to using a bottle off the shelf as advertised.

If this truly is the case, then they're not kidding when they call the off the shelf product Techron Concentrate.

That's good to know.
Years ago I remember Exxon being delivered in an Exxon truck....Shell in a Shell truck....Sunoco in a Sunoco truck etc....nowadays they all seem to be delivered in
the same trucks....It's made me wonder are they all selling the same gas?
