Recently bought a premium guard cabin air filter for my mazda. I noticed the charcoal and when I flipped it over it had some weird purple filter. I looked in there website and it said something about anti-bacterial? Are there any other brands that do this? Just a note that the filter media seems sturdy and quality. Unfortunately a little wavy.

Always buy cabin filters based on price. Purple red or blue would be fine if it was the cheapest. Waviness might bother me a bit.

And yes, other companies use a special color for their newest cabin filters.
Mahle Care Metix is blue, and the Mann Frecious Plus/Purolator Boss/Wix XP cabin filters are yellow

Anti-bacterial, anti-viral? How would a filter do that?
I bet the only way would be to have some hydroscopic chemical in the filter along with an anti-bacterial agent.
Humidity would reconstitute the anti-bacterial agent then some bacteria die. Good.
However, it all wears away real soon and reverts to being just a filter.
