Since my parents own two saturn SL 1&2, and I a 1986 Chrysler New Yorker Turbo, would Pro-Tec filters be a good buy? Rockauto had them on sale for $1.28 but had to get a case of 12. No problem since we all together own 3 that use that filter. Any objections? Pro-Tec is made by wix. That should be a plus.

Good deal and they're made by WIX

I say I would do only a MAX 5000K oci at most

I have 3 left myself (#166) from a wholesale case I got @ O'reilly's years ago.

The Pro-Tech line is the same as the old Walmart Supertech filters before Champ took over a year or two ago.
Decent filters for a ~5,000 mile interval for most vehicles.
My only real gripe about them is some use a combo ADV/Bypass valve and I personally don't like them, but no proof they are bad (and am sure they are fine).
The last one I cut open seemed to have brittle media, but no failure during use.

Here's one I cut open back in April of 2018. Link.
