Bunkering down in my office, got this in the mail.

Got too much Havoline DS, so need something to cut it a bit for the BRZ...

Have loads of Havoline DS 5W40 that I need to thin out a bit for the Subaru...(BRZ)

Congrats on the new car !
Brand-spank-me-new or new you you ?

I've just picked up a new-to-me 2013 Nissan X-trail (T31) 4x4 with the 2.5L (QR25DE) petrol donk. We needed a second car, as I'm not doing public transport right now. Luckily my existing oil stash fits it perfectly. Just picked up a few Ryco Syntec oil filters for it today at the SCA 20% off sale.

That BRZ reminds me of your old Torana days. I hope you have lots of fun in it.

I believe Shannow's plan is to mix the new 0W16 with his existing stash of 5W40 to make something that approximates a 5W30, which I believe is the spec for that car (Subaru BRZ) in Oz.

A lot of posters didn't bother to read Shannow's comment. The picture of the 0w16 triggered them.

A 50/50 mix of the Havoline 5w40 (13.8 Cst @100*C) and the Nulon 0w16 (7.36 Cst @100*C) would put the 'brew' right at a 30W....perfect...I started a thread on doing this exact same thing a few weeks ago (thinning down stashed 30 weights for use in my 20W spec'd Ford's by mixing with 0w16).....now I know that Shannow approves.....great..

Nice! It always feels like Christmas when something comes in the mail. My best friend and I call the mailman "Santa"

Used, 2012...I just had to do something for me given what's been happening...72,000km ain't that used...

Oh, yes, reminded me of the Toranas so badly...except it handles and stops...I built faster cars in a straight line, but this is simply delightful, and also shape wise reminds me of the GTR-X...because it does.

You mean (rounded off) approx.... 2.5w18.5, concocting a 50-50 blend.

You see more of this everyday. Don't bother to read the post, they just show up to spread their pessimism. I guess staying inside has brought out the worst in most people lol.

Winter numbers don't mix, and pouring two oils together isn't blending... so no, there will be no 2.5W. You've been around long enough to have read all the threads on that!
