Having trouble getting belt over the pulley. Gap too small between frame and top of pulley to get belt onto pulley. Looks like nuts can be turned to slide the lower pulley section which may create a better gap. Anyone ever done one like this?
Thanks

Usually on main drive belt with belt guides you have to loosen the center bolt on the motor crankshaft and pull down the pulley and istall the belt and re-install pulley on the crankshaft.

The belt can't be installed by putting it over the top of the pulley because the engine shaft is there. You will need to remove the blade belt and put the new drive belt on from the bottom. Then either move the keeper guides or like @vwmaniaman said take out the shaft center bolt and slide the clutch and all the pulleys down. Do not loosen any of the three bolts on the side of the triangle part, those are holding the clutch together.

Thanks everyone. Crankshaft did need to drop and the belt guide was fixed so engine had to be lifted slightly. Running great now.
