I had this filter lying around and decided to cut it open. Lots of glue mess but looks serviceable.

Yeah, some on bottom end and sides of can. Pretty sloppy I'd say. Why I wont buy another one too.

Gotta admit, it burned up pretty quick in the fire pit

Fire pit is a great place for a lot of the filters we see !!!

Well when you use inferior metal endcaps which don't really want to bond to media in the first place you need lots of glue.

Yeah that one looks really good ^^^^^^^


I do think the XL filters made by Premium Guard are typically very well made.

Just scratched that one off my list !!
 
The last Prime Guard I used was made in Korea. You may be able to get a Korean Prime Guard XL somewhere online.... I dunno. Try rockauto.

Doubtful, made in China

Premium Guard last I checked made in South Korea

I just picked up the same model number filter last week from AutoZone and it's stamped "Made in the USA".
