Oil Consumption Check-in!

1988 Mitsubishi Galant, 121k miles

Consumes or leaks about 1qt each 3-5k mls.
Most likely, the bigger part of it simply leaks out.

I will get to that issue once I have to adjust the valve clearance next time.

2002 F150. 5.4 2v, ~150,000 miles on engine. 1 qt every 1000-1500 miles.

2004 F150, 5.4 3v, 177,000 miles, 1 qt every 2000 miles.

2010 Hyundai Santa Fe, 2.4, 176,000 miles, 1 qt every 4000 miles (7,500 mile OCI)

2012 Scion xB, 2.4, 53,000 miles, 1/2 qt every 5,000 miles (engine know to be an oil burner, keeping an eye on it). Never have to add since I change it at 5000 miles.

2016 Mazda CX-5 2.5 4 cylinder that now has 42,000 miles ---- owned since new. Used 1.5 quarts per 5,000 mile oil change, up until about 25,000 miles. After that it has been using .5 quarts in 5,000 miles. I use whatever 0W-20 synthetic oil is on sale and a Mazda oil filter.

2019 Ford Mustang 2.3 turbo 4 cylinder --- now has 11,500 miles on it. No oil usage that I can see. Use Motorcraft 5W-30 semi-synthetic and a Motorcraft oil filter.

2003 Ford Taurus.....I mean Mercury Sable. 3.0 V6. 180,000 miles on it. Leaks and / or burns about 1 quart every 5,000 miles. Leaks from the rear valve cover. Not going to tear it apart to fix it at this point in time. I usually use the cheapest 5W-30 conventional oil that is on sale and a Motorcraft oil filter.

All my vehicles get 5,000 mile oil changes, for ease of keeping track of.

2018 Ram 1500 5.7, 41100 miles - Consumed 1qt of RL 5W-30 after 6070 miles. Topped it off today and will run it for 10K.

2004 Toyota Camry 2.4 I4 279,000 it takes about a quart every 2500-3000 miles.
That is the only vehicle I own that consumes oil regularly.

our CRV burns some, in 5K 1qt easily; i'm afraid it will get worse...

Accord at same OCI does not; go figure

Pretend I'm posting this in the summer of 1981:

1968 Chev Impala, 307 2-bbl, 170,000 miles

Quaker State 10W-30 & Fram filter (PH30, if I recall correctly)

Oil consumption ~ 1 litre every 75 miles

Mosquito count in vicinity when engine running: very low

2003 Chevrolet Silverado SS, 178,000 miles. 6 liter Vortec V-8. 6qt sump filled with Mobil-1 HM-EP 5W-30 and Fram Ultra

2013 Chevrolet Impala LTZ, 55,000 miles. 3.6 liter V-6. 6qt sump too, currently filled with Mobil-1 EP 5W-30 and Fram XG

Both get changed when OLM pops. The Impy is a short tripped grocery fetcher. She counts down to 5% OLM around every 5~5.5kMiles. I try to fire up and cruise the SS when I know it's going to be running for at least an hour. OLM is more forgiving there, but she's about done to 5% OLM at the end of 6~6.25 kMiles.

EDIT: Neither are leaking or burning any oil. Last oil change on SS - saw some weeping on lower back half of oil pan - giving the HM Mobil-1 a shot to see if it helps, but no drops on pavement when parked overnight. *Crosses fingers*

2011 Acura RDX, ~102k, uses no oil over a 10k interval.

2005 Honda Civic SI w/ JDM K20a from EP3 Civic R*: 1 qt/1000-1500mi.

*8600 RPM factory redline and close-ratio 6 speed; spins ~4200rpm at 80mph.
