Good Afternoon. Now for the "used filter autopsies"

This filter is off farmer friends 2008 Chevy Suburban SUV with 5.3. Vehicle has like 287k on it. He had this oil change done at indy shop last October.

They used NAPA Syn 5w30 SN+ and this filter. As we all can see, hole near top of media area. Purolator filth at its finest. The oil did catch some "gunk" as seen on ADBV and in some end. Some Valvoline Advanced Syn 5w30 DEXOS 1 gen 2 and a fram ultra went in and on.

Enjoy the photos

Filth ...³
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Yeah, I wouldn't call the posted filter "serviceable"

If it tore in less than 5,000 miles would it hold up for 3,000??!

Notice the thin layer of metal over the outside of the baseplate, and you can see the edges of that plate through the base holes.

That filter tore the media in a spot where the pleats weren't even that far spread apart compared to some others we've seen torn.
