Can't find anybody around here that repairs windshield cracks

Looked on Craigslist and FB Marketplace, Google too. Found places that will repair chips but nobody does cracks. There are plenty of youtube videos from companies that do it like, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XT6vdB4Kczg and https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0jr9Gojvt6E so it's seems like it would be profitable. I have a semi-professional kit that does chips and I may have to modify it for the crack, but would prefer someone with experience to do it.

Most places won't repair cracks, in fact I don't even know of any around here that will. If it's cracked, they replace it plain and simple.

Safelite can repair your windshield when:

- The chip or crack is 6 inches or smaller
- You have three chips or less
- The damage is not in front of a camera or sensor

Yea, for $140. I can buy a new windshield for $73 plus $10 materials and replace it myself if I had to but it's not much fun to do.

OK, so it's not that you "Can't find anybody around here that repairs windshield cracks." You just don't want to pay them.

I paid cash at Safelite and they did a fine job replacing my windshield (mine was sandblasted and not chipped) . The price was about half what they were going to charge the insurance company.

Also many insurance companies cover windshield replacements 100% with no deductible or collision coverage required. It's worth giving them a call.

People are so self absorbed when they post stupid videos like this. I'm not referring to you Donald.

What's even worse are the videos posted by idiots who blow up perfectly good engines in an attempt to see if they'll run on maple syrup.

Scott

I laughed and gave him a thumbs up.

Yep got a new one in the Corolla last summer $121 which included tax. After owning a car 14 years something is going to happen you need to fix. If you don't want a new windshield live with it.
