So the whole world is pushing all of this "alleged" stuff going on in some kind of "intentional" way for some reason ... guess it's time to invest in an aluminum foil factory if you want to make some good investments.

Just trying to be positive with NO agenda. Been around long enough to know that bad things happen but together we can ALL get through this! Being negative and fueling the fire as they say does no good for anyone!!

"Bad things" need to be identified, talked about and handled in an effective way to get them under control. Unfortunately, that's part of the whole process, and people can't go through it without both the good and the bad. As the saying goes. "you have to take the good with the bad" (Google it) ... that's the reality of life. The stock market is included.

I agree! "Bad Things Aside" Lets just stay on the stock market topic, keep it real, factual and not go into other areas.

I think the worst has already come to pass, regarding the stock market. The initial "shock" when everyone freaked out tanked it below what it really should have tanked, IMO, and now it's just going to malinger a bit on its way up.

I disagree. Hopefully you are correct.

Let's see in 3 months....

Yeah, I think there are going to be lots of resulting economic impacts that haven't hit just yet, and it's going to take quite a while (1~2 years?) for them to settle out back to "normal".

They just had to close our large tier one plant that makes large appliances.

You are going to see more and more such closures, they are inevitable. Just speaking reality.

In the end main street drives wall street, not the other way around.

Yes, my magic 8 ball is broken, but I'm hoping as well.

Im still fully invested, almost maxed out, little more on the side that I can still invest, maybe Ill call it insurance money, if the market drops in half again making the current prices look high.
We are in uncharted waters. When will the insanity of businesses being forced to close end? We talk of recession, I think at the least it will be severe and think depression will be more the correct word unless the governors open their states for business again.
Just an FYI, Sweden handling things different, schools are open, businesses open and the public agrees with that, calling it just another flu.

SO ... anyway, where does wall street go from here, once again, need a crystal ball, cant predict how a company will do in an economy that is "closed"
The one that guesses correct when it will open again, will be on the money ... I guess.. .have a good day, off to work I go..)

AMZN might be down because of employees striking in New York.

Instacart also striking and want higher delivery fees and minimum 10% tips.

TQQQ - how liquid is it? I see daily average volume is about 90 M shares. Is this a trade with new play for now?

What is PPT?

I trade BRK.B times but not willing to be in the market now, I am all cash for now.

Well ooof. Over the last few days it seems my +30% ish return has dropped to just shy of 13%. I really need to just stop watching it, to be honest.

Plenty of big downs today like O , most of the casino stocks like CZR way down today. I've been buying CZR around 6.00 and reselling around 6.75-7

I really want some sub $50 shares of O to hold long.

MAC, a shopping mall reit was in the $60s 2 years ago, now $5.74 today, down from $8.46 just Wednesday. As if a mall would ever sell for 90% off. Yes they are empty now, temporarily.

Some sectors and companies are going to be hit very hard in this climate. Your examples show just that.

Travel and tourism is another sector that will be hit hard. I just saw a clip on the airlines and how much cash they have on hand. American is standing at the edge of the abyss right now.

Picking single stocks is a huge gamble here for most people. You have to be nimble and know when to get in and get out.

PPT = Plunge Protection Team. ðŸ‘

Like I said TQQQ is leveraged 3X.

Leveraged is a double-edged sword meaning it can lead to significant gains..... but can also lead to significant losses and mainly used by day traders for some quick trades.

Stay 100% cash because more bad news is in the pipeline.

Another thought here is to watch current trends during this period and decide which ones will continue forward after everything settles down. A couple to think about.

Groceries online. Walmart and Amazon are leaders here.

Online conference. Tech and internet will benefit from this. Obviously travel will not.

Meal delivery. This was in its fledgling state but the trend may go up as people get used to the idea. Restaurants will have to adapt.

100% true. I started gambling March 18th, up an obscene amount cause im betting on stocks that have already lost so much. Most of my portfolio is red today but i won't sell it till its green 10% or more. Buy low, don't sell at a loss, don't gamble with any money you actually need to have. If there is no possible selling pressure i can only win, and all my trades have sold in the green.
