Everyone has something in their lives that others feel is stupid and a waste of money, yet some feel so high and mighty telling other people what their needs are, being ignorant to the facts of others needs and desires.
You want to use the local Walmart (or whatever store) as your stash, fine, pay more for oil than I do.
If you feel that saving $10 on an oil change is not a big deal, then by your reasoning (knowing better for others than they do) I could call you and idiot for not being financially responsible and saving money anywhere and everywhere you can.
But I don't, because how you spend your money is your business.

Idiots & Ignoramuses are not those that refuse to needlessly hoard / stash oil. We are 95% of vehicle-owners.

Maybe this thread needs to get closed. Nobody here is an idiot or ignorant blupupher.

Yeah but it's unstable. One day someone will need a flower pot, grab it and the whole rotten structure will come crashing down. [/quote]

Let's be civil please. I dont care what someone thinks of me or my stash. I'm not the smartest, but I do get by in life and my work just fine.

Let's keep this post clean and respectful

Thank You all smile

Well it's the internet, people like to make random pointless observations. Plus how often can you use the phrase the whole rotten structure will come crashing down? It's part of the list of famous last words.

I gave my brother about 50 quarts of oil when I got to 150 quarts of clearance oil.

No need to have a crazy amount of oil.

My stash consists of thousands of quarts of various grades at my local Wally’s. I keep a quart handy just in case. Old habit.

There is a very good saying I have heard many years ago...

"Live and let live"....

A lot of Truth in those words... And there are times I need to remind myself to do what those words say too.

I have a huge stash, thousands of gallons. I have a storage facility about six minutes up the street... Called, the store.

Some of this stuff is like prepper level. I can see getting a good deal but even at that you have hundreds or more tied up in... Motor oil. Old motor oil. At least try to flip some of it if you come across a clearance sale or something.

*Will new oil specification coming out in May (GF-6 : https://www.motor.com/2019/05/get-ready-gf-6-motor-oil/) - will you slow your oil stash buying ? For my two older PFI Hyundai's I'll continue to look for good oil deals . However , for my newer Hyundai GDI engine Sonata I'll wait for the new GF-6 oils to appear before buying any more oil for it .

I have a pretty big stash, i have the nasty habit of buying oil, even when i have plenty, when i see it for a ridiculously good price on rebate.
