Similar to the laser level, I've used strings in the past to get alignments really close before bringing them into a shop to get verified/aligned, but it takes me hours to get it right.

A lot of Race cars are done on the floor with jack stands and string. Ever seen an Indy car, Funny car, or Dragster on an alignment rack? String can be very accurate, all depends on who is measuring and how experienced they are.

Is AC Delco really the same as OEM Chevrolet?

AC Delco sells parts for almost every brand. Or re-boxing.

The AC Delco Advantage line is typical bargain parts and not OEM GM parts. They rebox everything from other makers - mostly chinese. It's your Value line so to speak. There is the OEM line of AC Delco as well, which is the Professional line.
