Looking at two gas pressure washers that are 4000 psi and 4.0 gpm.

Generac 9488 / 6565

Simpson PS4240 / 60843

Both have similar specs and use their own respective engines and pumps. Both are also similar in price at around 700-750 shipped for free with no tax.

Are there pros or cons with either?

They both appear to be solid, commercial units. from what I see, the Simpson uses a Honda engine - which is a plus, IMHO

What will you be using the pressure washer for? Seems overkill.

Unfortunately the Simpson model I referred to does not use a Honda motor.

Have lots of sidewalk and property to clean. As long as I can variate the pressure I would rather have more psi and gpm than less. Have an older Karcher 2400psi, 2.5 gpm unit, Besides getting old it always under performed.

Neither names the pump manufacturer. They most likely would if it was Cat or Comet.

Pressure washing I presume.

Appears the Generac engine is an import not otherwise specified. From my few minutes of searching, appears that the pump is the same. No brand name given.

Who makes engines for Generac?
Generac G-FORCE® and OHVI engines are designed and manufactured by Generac Power Systems Inc. at our facilities in Wisconsin. The Generac OHV engines are not engineered or manufactured in the U.S..
Portable Generator FAQs - Generac Power Systems

It appears the Simpson has a AAA triplex pump. Both AAA and Simpson are owned by the FNA Group, https://www.fna-group.com/
No clue who makes their engines, but some of their models use Honda engines

The 2 things you look for when you shop.

This..Honda GX engine with CAT...or a Comet pump.

Northern Tool has a good selection.

Asked Simpson about it and they told me they only make pressure washers with their own motors. LOL

Also this one is a refurb with a 90 day warranty.
