Hello:

Was playing around in the garage, wasting time. I swapped wheel sets on my E46. I'm the original owner. It's never once been left a single night parked outside, nor has it every been driven in the rain or on a wet road. And I'm the only one to drive it, literally. I do 100% mechanical and cosmetic maintenance. That said, I do drive it and it gets out. It's got 91k miles on it! In other words, you're looking at 17 year old, 91k mile factory paint! The handwashed undercarriage is as clean as the body.

Anyway, I was bored so I swapped wheel sets, just because. Eventually they get switched back, just because.

One set is a "square" set of BBS CH wheels, 19x8.5, ET35. Tires are Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 235/35-19s.
Other set is a "staggered" set of BMW Style 225, 19x8 ET37 front, 19x9 ET39 rear. Tires are Michelin Pilot Sport 4 S 235/35-19 front, 245/35-19 rear.

I included three undercarriage shots from this past summer's hand wash! Yikes!!!

Anyway, I hope this gives you a moment's distraction. That's a good thing!

Cheers,

Scott

Very nice car, Scott. Both sets of wheels look great.

I've enjoyed your posts about this car over the years.

I'm normally an OEM wheel guy, but love the CH on there. Such a classic wheel.

I also wash the underside of my car, so I can't clown too much....

I prefer the BBS wheel, but I prefer the Pilot Sport 4 tyre.

If you can swap the tyres over then do so, otherwisee use the BMW wheels because they have better tyres.

I dont think those are ZHP, those look like E90 sport plus wheels. ZHP wheels are style 135 AFAIK. I like them both, but I would stick with the CHs for lightness, and i think they look better. The 225s look much bigger than the CH, tuck a little nicer too.

Audios, you are spot on. The Style 225s are E90 sport plus wheels. I normally run them on my wife's E90 M Sport.

I have two BMWs and three sets of wheels.

E46 setup: A "square" set of BBS CHs, 19x8.5, ET35. Tires are Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 235/35-19s.
E46 or E90 setup: A "staggered" set of BMW Style 225s, 19x8 ET37 front, 19x9 ET39 rear. Tires are Michelin Pilot Sport 4 S 235/35-19 front, 245/35-19 rear.
E90 setup: A "staggered" set of BBS CHs, 19x8.5 ET 35 front, 19x9.5 ET40 rear. Tires are Bridgestone RE-11 235/35-19 front, 255/35-19 rear.

And then the Passat setup: A "square" set of BBS SX Anthracite 19x8 ET46. Tires are Michelin Pilot Sport 4 S 235/40-19.

I agree with everyone's comments. I like the CHs best.

FWIW, more pictures.

Scott

CH on E46, Sport plus on E90 IMO. They just fit right. Even at the same size the sport plus look bigger on the e46. Almost makes the E90 look like an M3, very close pattern.
