I have an 11 f150 with 125k. When I first got it it had 114k... i bought some platinum motorcraft plugs and when i changed them i noticed it had stock iridium if i remember correctly. I was going through rock auto and noticed that it didnt offer iridium motorcraft plugs, and advanced auto didnt either. But I swear when I bought the platinum last spring there was an iridium option (I went with platinum because that's what I thought was stock, correct me if I'm wrong)... is motorcraft not offering the iridium plugs anymore?

Platinum, I think. That's what mine had.

The 2008 Crown Vic factory plug is a SP493 (AGSF32PM) platinum fine wire plug

Pretty sure my 2011 used the same one. (Definitely platinum-said so on the plugs.)

I believe factory Crown Vic plug is AGSF32N (SP403) for gasoline vehicles and AGSF-22F-M1 (SP405) for Flex Fuel...

SP493 Was for the older cars.

Mine would be SP405, then...it's a FFV.

Thought the coyotes were using iridiums? In fact, this is my entry from when I did them on mine "Replaced original CYFS-12Y with XP5363..."

NGK makes them, and they are better plugs IMO anyway...

SP403 copper core nickel electrode - SP405 copper core platinum electrode - SP493 platinum core platinum electrode.
SP403 used from 1992 to 1996 and still useable in 4.6/crown vic until 2011 - Heat range 3
SP405 used from 1996 to 2004 - Heat Range 3
SP493 used from 2005 to 2011 - Heat Range 3
All three will work in the crown vic 4.6 modular engine gapped to 0.054 in gas or flex
Same plug basically, just a change in construction material. From copper plugs to single platinum to double platinum

I believe all listed above are copper core...not platinum core as listed for the SP493...usually the core will be copper with the electrode containing the differing metal

No.

Again, the factory plug 2008-2011 is AGSF32N (SP413) for gasoline vehicles with a 0.54 gap and AGSF-22F-M1 (SP405) for Flex Fuel with a 0.44 gap. SP493 does work but is not correct for the later cars.

SP413 is heat range 3. SP405 is heat range 2 to help preignition with ethanol.
