No live or through the lane bidding. Although you can still go to the auction and check out the cars on the lot. Wonder how it will affect sales and prices. Especially as dealers are expecting to stock up for the tax refund season.

So is this like when they bring cars with bad bodywork out on rainy days?

Ideal opportunity to grab a bargain - biddrs normally fight with each other so less bidders means less competition for the items you want to bid on .

Richie Brothers, one of the largest Heavy Equipment Auctioneers, is allowing bidding only remotely but is allowing onsite inspections. Here won't be the usual rapid bidders bunched up in each lane.

Hmmm....

Restrictions in the inspection / bidding process may result in spot shortages. Possible higher prices?

Olas' point might be the way it goes. Interesting.

As usual, we won't know because the data will be so incomplete.

I'd guess between one quarter to one third of the cars over $5000 are already sold to online bidders before this happened. It's the cheaper under $3000 cars that might be going cheap if the sellers will sell.
