Thinking next weekend I will drain and refill PTU on the Equinox. I highly doubt it has ever been done with 118K on it. Manual calls for the AC Delco 75w90 syn.($25.00/ qt), however I have Super tech and Mobil 1 75/90 syn. in the garage. Both have LS additive, will that cause any harm to this PTU?

Thanks in advance!

This is just my experience & .02 cents.

I am currently using Mobil 1 75W90 LS in the Firebird in my sig(non LSD) and have been doing it for decades without issues. I've also used it in my wife's previous '01 Lexus RX300 AWD(she owned for 15 yrs) that didn't have LSD, in both the transfer case & rear differential. I have also used other brands of gear oil in both 75W90 & 80W90, each w/LS additive in the gear oil. And used them in non LSD's & TC's, all w/o issues!

Mobil 1 75/90 rejuvenated the LSD in my 12yr old 200Kmi BMW. This was about 2000, and it was a wopping 10$ a QT. Stuff cured the chatter on LH turns.

Had a 2005 GMC and M1 smoothed out rear end (hard turns) chatter that OEM fluid did not …
