Polaris/Amsoil UOA Question

Recently got my account on Polaris created. Planning on buying a 10pk of oil sample kits but noticed that for the advanced Engine testing, there is the option of having Particle Quantifier (Ferrous Density) tested as well. Necessary/Worth having tested or not? Planning on testing both engine oil as well as ATF on my 2005 Odyssey.

Additionally, what does the Amsoil/OAI test kit cross over to on the Polaris website? Is it the Advance Engine or the Advanced Engine Plus test?

I could not find any information on the advanced engine plus test, only basic and advanced -

Do you have a link? The AMSOIL test appears to be the advanced engine test as it tests for base number, oxidation, and nitration in addition to the other tests performed in the basic test.

Take a look at these two screenshots from the Polaris online store website. From what I saw, it seems that the only difference between non-plus and plus is the addition of a Particle Quantifier test.

I guess really my questions are..

1. Is a particle quantifier test recommended or needed when testing either engine oil or ATF?
2. Does the Amsoil test include the particle quantifier test?

The Amsoil test does not include particle testing. It maps to the first test Advanced (not Advanced Plus).

I buy mine straight from Amsoil - they are about $20 when you have a preferred membership and I wait until they have a free shipping special and I stock up on kits and oil.

NAPA is still cheaper at $16. I use to go with Polaris, but now NAPA.

You should buy them at Rock Auto for $9; same test as NAPA, but I like Polaris.
