New Hyundai recall

Just got a call from hyundai to take in my kids tucson for a software update. Supposedly they are updating the software for the knock sensor . they also upped the warranty to 10/120 even for for the second owner or more

i hope its not a dog and messes up the car

I did the update on my 15' Sonata 2.4L. No change in how it drove at all.

It is merely to adjust the computer sensations of spark knock sensor in order to detect the noise of a rod bearing going out. Its been out for quite some time now.

Also had my 2015 Sonata 2.0T updated .
No difference in performance or drivability.

I updated my 2019 Santa Fe about 1 month ago for same.

Shouldn't affect performance, they are just implementing a program that uses the knock sensors to detect vibrations that can indicate early signs of internal engine failure, not reducing power or re-tuning the car like with the Dieselgate VW's or the year to year changes with the Optima Turbo.
