I received my six jugs of Mobil 1 last Week.
Just noticed one was leaking / not at the Cap, not at the Bottom.
It was leaking along the label near the bottom.
I'm glad I noticed it before I had an oily mess.

Yeppers..I do that. ðŸ‘.. I always put a sheet of blue shop towel under the new jug when I place it on the shelf and check it in a day or two.

In a milk jug.. I'm sure the milk won't mind.

Oil jugs usually leak or SEEP along the mold parting line, on the side with the "oil level view window"

I have not seen the new Valvoline style leak yet.

It is only like 70 cents for a gallon of milk around here

What if your milk comes in bags instead of jugs?

I had a can of diet soda (wife's soda, I can't stand diet crap) leaking everywhere and making mess on a bookshelf in the garage. They were fine but over time one developed a tiny hole without anyone touching them ... I no longer stash soda.

Having some Mobil super jugs leaking from the bottom ?? Is this common ??

Possibly since I have them on cement floor ??. Moved them to cardboard box

Ever wonder why you got such a good deal on those six jugs?

Now I'm able to download photo.
The leak was NOT a puncture from mishandling but more a design/manufacturing problem.
It was right along the edge of the blue label / a fine slit about 3/8" long.
I remember 'only one' of the Jugs came in a plastic bag.
Come to your own conclusion if the Seller knew it was leaking and that reflected on the low, low price.

Transferring to another container is good advise, and most practical.

Could it have been caused by a errant utility knife along the way? It doesn't take much to cause a leak. Boxes do say no knives but a lot of people cannot read these days.

OP here,
I have come to the conclusion that the leak was caused by a puncture from a razor-blade (most likely before shipping from the Walmart Warehouse).
I cut the Jug up and it is thick enough to take some abuse (shipping across USA).

My order was online and shipped to my local Walmart.
I was the one who opened the box that was packed by Walmart.

The leaking Jug has since been poured into a different container.

Just goes to say that any Oil Jugs should be inspected for leaks before leaving the store.
