Here's a VOA and a UOA of a Ford race truck with a Windsor
410CID engines. 1000 hours on the oil racing the Baja 1000 race. The UOA shows what dirt and sand getting inside the oil system can do.

The Baja race is around 800 miles and takes about 25 hours or to complete
So this engine had been used several times

Whoever did this UOA is missing out on BITOGers. Alot of people on here would love to have those kind of printouts.

What company is this??

I have no idea of which 20W-50 Valvoline oil was used

Pro teams all get to pre run the complete coarse, driver and navigator, the driver rates all turns on the GPS, R-L- 1 thru 9, so R-4, L-4, Then driver rates Danger spots and Caution area's, navigator marks them as the driver calls them. As they race, navigator calls one turn a head of the turn they are in.

The catch, the "Natives" LOL, Mexicans mostly, Sabotage the coarse in places after they pre run the coarse, then sit and drink and party and wait...

If your of the party age, and not afraid to go to Ensenada B.C. you can go and watch the trucks and rails drive thru town, and watch at the starting line, but be careful! Its crazy, and it can be dangerous, people stand way too close to the road, and people die some times, don't be one of them.

1000hrs or 32,000 mi. Is this correct ? That is 40 Baja 800mi trips.

The article only mentioned the one race
Only the oil report listed the 1000 hours
My guess is it's an engine that's been around for awhile in different races

Honestly, I would dismiss the thousand hours on the UOA, I would think there is no way someone with an entry in a race such as the Baja 1K that would not change the oil in a race vehicle with that much invested. Oil is cheap!

Yeah, 1000 hrs OCI on a race engine is insane if true. I doubt it's true, but regardless, the high wear metals numbers are high because race engines are beat hard. Hard to tell how much of that wear was due to dirt ingestion.

My guess is it's 1000 miles (the one Baja 1000 race), not 1000 hours.
