To make it work, you have a few options. You can try to virginize the tehcm in the replacement trans which may or may not be doable but it going to be done at the EEPROM level, you can swap the tehcm from the original trans to replacement, which may or may not be a good idea since you had a catastrophic fail, or put a new tehcm in the replacement trans and program with SPS.

Used the original TEHCM with a Quick Learn & a extensive test drive, Not a catastrophic failure....Just a burnt 456 clutch.

I have plenty of experience with 6L80E/6L90E builds & swaps, I don't bother with used T43 TEHCM's. Original or GM reman only.
 
Right at 100,000....Odd failure as it has the same exact front pump seal that the 6L80E/6L90E uses. Front pump bushing was it perfect shape as well.....No surprise there, The converter weighs about 1/2 what a TMBX 6L80E converter weighs.

Of course this only got out of hand because the leak wasn't caught/repaired before the fluid level got low.
