If you like paying extra for your oil and having 5 things to throw away at the end of the job instead of 1, yes, it's a decent deal.
I like quart jugs for keeping in the car. Gallons always seem to seep when they get knocked over no matter how tight you crank them. It also allows you to keep track of how much oil your car is burning. If your car isn't burning oil, you don't need a gallon jug in the trunk anyway.
Even with a car that burned around a quart per thousand KM I would decant gallons in to quart containers. They never go on sale here.
