So, it's a blend (no Dexos) sold out of somebodies house. Meets specs but got dinged because he forgot to put SAE on the label. Obviously slapping his label on standard blend house fare. I'm sure you could contact him and he'd (hopefully) tell you what he's selling. Or you could work backwards from the PQI spec sheets and come up with a guess. Wanna support the little guy? THIS is the little guy.

They offer conventional oil , blended oil and a full synthetic. I am interested in the 15-40 full synthetic.

The info sheet says "API SNGF-5 rated" I have no idea what that means LoL

they buy 55 gallon drums only and offered me 5 quarts of 5w-30 or 15w-40 full synthetic for $20 either one.

Or is my Walmart conventional Centec just peachy. The engine is a long rod 30 over 400 SBC with Scat crank and rods, Keith Black pistons, comp cam, Edelbrock 200cc aluminum heads and Edelbrock "cold" intake, making right under 400 hp at 5,600 rpm. It's built to use some oil to keep the cylinder walls well oiled.

With so many name brand oils available and easy to buy and Amsoil that delivers quickly I see no need to buy an oil brand you need to research. Your shop could have gotten a good deal to try a pallet full.

I change my own oil but bring in Amsoil gear and ATF for my shop to use in my vehicle.

I was just about to post the same thing.

Run away. The oil has zero specifications nor approvals and is not API licensed SN. Also notice there is no "SAE" before the grade designation just as the PQIA points out.

Only a completely clueless or unscrupulous shop would use such an oil on their customer's vehicles. Based on their intent to use this oil I'd find a different shop to work on my vehicle, thank you.

What's the name of the shop, Goober's garage? You put your hard earned money into this built up motor. If this scrap oil is being used on customers cars maybe you should click the unsubscribe button and scram.

given the dealer's proximity to the southern border and the oil's vague provenance, i wonder if this is some kind of mexican bulk oil that is decanted and bottled in arizona.

Could be, but then that's quite a deviation from the "AMERICAN MADE" printed on that label.

But then of course Mexico is in North America so who knows.

Never heard of that oil. Agree with other dubious respondents here. Suggest using a well know full synth like Mobil1 or the like as long as Group IV and V bases are used in the product.

Seriously, in that motor....come on man....common sense here. Use a proven, known quality oil. I hope you do not cheap out on fuel as well. Like guy I sort of know, roasts tires on SRT HELLCAT then wants to buy cheap Chinese tires.
