They will effectively pay you $1.02 with the current Shell promotion. to take it off their hands. It goes to just about free when you figure the tax.

If you have GDI / TGDI, this is a terrific carbon fighting oil. Stick with it, as it may show some ugly oil on your dipstick initially, until things start getting cleaned-up inside

Amazon also has some good prices on the Pennzoil, also on Walmart.com this is available, free shipping + rebate, might work and get free towels.

Being SN Plus, is not a high Calcium oil. (Per Sopus).... "Keeps pistons up to 65% cleaner than required by the toughest industry standard.

I cannot find where any other gas-only oil jug supplier meets or exceeds that 65% number. Sopus recommends this for my 2.4 GDI.
If a BITOG member here finds a competitor that claims better - in the mid-priced category, I will gladly buy it.

For turbo engines, high calcium can be an antagonist to lspi. Ultra is SN+ so that means Ca has been lowered to mitigate lspi events.

Nope, Ultra has been just south of $21 for a while. It was $19.99 when I bought it. Maybe you're thinking of the HM PP...

Oh I know, I didn't realize PUP was reformulated in the last year or two for SN+, interesting..

I saw it the other day for $17.XX on Walmart's website too, I was tempted to buy some but I'm holding out for the GF-6/ API SP in May this year. Walmart changes prices all the time, you probably just didn't notice the price drop.

A couple GM's and a Hyundai.

PUP won't be at today's prices, when SP/GF-6 recipes come out. It''ll likely be around $26. Look for price increases then.

SOPUS PP line already meets GF6 test requirements. No reformulating needed. But in the grander scheme of things I'd say you're right that it ain't gonna stay this low for too much longer. These are some great non rebate prices on great oils.
