2012 Honda Odyssey, 99K.
I was performing a timing belt service (due to a leaking hydraulic tensioner) and also replaced the spark plugs due to mileage.
The spark plugs on bank #1 appear to have evidence of oil consumption, especially cyl 3. This is also the bank that is used with VCM.
As with most of the VCM equipped Honda's from this era, this van burns 2-3 qt of oil between 5-6K oil changes with 0w-20.
Will disabling the VCM solve the spark plug fouling issue permanently, or is it too late and this engine simply needs new rings? It is eligible for the piston ring warranty extension, but that warranty expires in a few months.
