My 2013 Tacoma had these vinyl stone guards in front of the rest wheels that had crud built up and had discolored.

I got some Turtle Wax label and sticker removal and took them off. Made a world of difference in the look.

Are you going to put new film on? Or just take the risk and run them bare?

I'm 50/50 on the protective film. I've seen it work really well, and I've seen it look terrible when it gets scratched/faded/dirt in the edges (like yours). That being said, your truck's paint looks great! I have a customer that swears by Tacoma's. She's a courier and puts 130K+ miles a year on her's, buys a new one every 3 - 3.5 years after 300K+ miles of service. I did have to do a transmission in the last one at like 250k, but I think that was a fluke. Other than the occasional alternator, battery, and belt all she does is recommended fluid changes. The trucks just run and run and run.
