I’ve never tried it. I know it’s probably overkill for my accord. I wanna try it. Lol

I currently run magnatec 5w30 in my accord 2.0t, so I’d probably go with the RL 0w20 since the 5w30 is a bit thick for something that specs 0w20. Is RL still using high calcium? Any issues in a tgdi engine?

Open to any insight.

What documentation would lead you to believe the oil you are thinking about a $50 a Jug is really going to give you than you could get from Magnatec for under $20.
I just bought 3 Jugs of Magnatec for $15 each.

Never said it was going to give me more. Not even close. I am looking to try it and it’s not a cost issue. Thanks for the reply and insinuating I’ve never even thought about this aspect. I’m not someone who thinks something is better because I paid more.

But why are you trying it if you don't think it will get you anything?

So, then...why do you want to use Redline?

Please don't come in here and say you want to try something for no reason whatsoever, then respond defensively to someone questioning your logic.

If you had said you're rich and have money to burn, then we'd recommend you absolutely try Redline INSTEAD OF literally burning money, but not just for S&G's.

If you had said that money isn't an issue and you like to auto-X or track your vehicle every weekend, then we'd be apt to recommend a boutique oil.

That fact is, boutique oils just aren't needed for the vast majority of DD's here, even if you drive aggressively. There are many better thing to spend your money on, such as occasional PEA-based cleaners, detailing products, touch-up paint, etc, that will actually make positive steps toward maintaining your vehicle for the long-haul.

Superior to what? What are you basing this on?

You can buy high quality motor oil at Walmart. Good selection, good prices.

If you get into ATF or gear oil then maybe Redline or Amsoil.

Redline now has a SN Plus oil with much lower Calcium. You can research it at their website.

Which is nothing more than a standard Philips 66 product that says "Redline" on the bottle.

So Phillips 66 5W30 now has a HTHS vis of 3.7?....... Wow!
Thanks for sharing that.

At nearly $10 a quart. No thanks, I'll take Castrol or M1 0W-40 from Walmart at half the price, both of which have more approvals.
