The first "road rage" I have encountered fresh for 2021 wasn't really a road rage, and I don't think I have the mental energy to engage situation I know I can handle, have to know when to break it off, similar to MCompact's post #81, have had similar things happen, and never been the guy in the Z28 rather the guy in the 3.0 just watching what the other driver will do. Like, really dude? comes to mind. But just a case of someone in a white Honda (looked like a brand new Civic Si. But. Anyways) ... being a jerk. Which is apparently quite common where I am.. (everywhere??)
So, basically, not that dramatic but still a very *** moment. There are a lot of one-lane roads where I am. Of course, these have double yellows. I probably live/work within 5 miles of the County Jail where I am at so I really prefer not to go testing the waters, rather I adopt a policy of strict adherence to the law. No less than twice, have I been happy I have done so. You usually don't see coppers, but when you do, they have their cruisers angled towards the road, usually a window down, close to the road, running.. basically, absolutely ready to produce the 3rd degree to whoever was violating the law. You have to know what you can do and can't do. They aren't around much, but when they are, if you're violating they will ticket you. So. Anyways. That in mind..
All that to say, I choose to do the speed limit on these one-lane roads.
Now, you wouldn't think that would be THAT big of a deal, particularly for about a mile or so. Well, apparently, we would be wrong..
I'm doing the speed limit, pretty sure it's 40 for that mile, posted. There's literally ohh about a quarter mile until the next light. White Honda is behind me, has to be doing at least 60, it's coming up fast enough that I notice it. Okay, cool. Buddy. It's a one-lane road and I'm literally going to the store at the light..
... NOPE!! I get tailgated for about 5 seconds.. I'm just cruising along, Intimidation Fail.
^^ Double yellow, in case anyone was wondering.
So the Honda revs it up, blows by me, and does about ohh 80 to the light, which of course is red, and he stops at.
Me, of course, I never touched either brakes or gas and I crept up on fool's bumper for about 5 not more than 10 seconds before the light turned green
Idiot driver.. He then rockets down the road, and I make my left turn to go get my food and return to work.
I tell ya.. It honestly doesn't matter anything, you'll encounter even a Near Rage (similar to a Near Miss) eventually. Doesn't matter what.
