I see Kreen mentioned time to time as a possible engine carbon cleaner. I use Kroil at work and prefer it to other penetrating oils but wonder what kreen is. I see the SDS sheets use similar ingredients. I'm thinking Naptha may be the carbon dissolver but that is just a WAG. Anyone know the real scoop?

I've always wondered if it had MEK in it.

Big fan of Kreen here. Don't know about SDS but it doesn't smell like MEK. Thing I know is that I ran it on OM606 L6 engine and it cleaned out the engine as the drained oil looked like molasses and quietened the motor and the morning Injector knock was gone. Car had almost 300k miles on it. No engine oil seeps or leaks before or after treatment.

Likewise here, we have used kreen in many different very high mileage vehicles and the results have been uniformly excellent.

A great product with a real guarantee.

According to the SDS Kreen contains 5-15% MEK...harsh stuff.
