Looking for some help. I recently replaced the power steering pump and box on my 1970 Chevelle SS 396. I have gone through 3 new rebuilt power steering pumps purchased from NAPA and rebuilt by Cardone. They ALL leak. Any ideas or options. The mechanic working on the car is frustrated!!!!

Buy a new pump. Cardon is garbage.

I hope you kept the original parts as replacing them is detrimental to the cars value.

Old Saginaw style pump? Return the Napa unit and reseal the original yourself. Stupid simple design that anyone with basic hand tools can take care of. Pretty sure I got a kit for mine for maybe $10 a few years ago.

Turn One Steering use them. Literally all they do are GM style pumps.

I have recently purchased a “500” box from CPP.
Good so far.

Not saying you are wrong, but It does seem unlikely that they ALL leak. Are you sure it isn't a hose fitting?

Mechanic stated that NAPA reached out to Cardone who in turn stated they had issues with the last batch of my particular part. Not sure who to believe but I am waiting on a NEW, not rebuilt pump at the moment!
