I've stopped going to WalMart for oil. The nearest one never keeps anything stocked well enough, and the next one is about 35 minutes out of the way. I can have Amazon basics oil on my doorstep in 2 days for the same price.

At the WalMarts near Daytona Beach I'm having trouble finding Mobil1 European 0W-40! Or anything Euro spec for that matter. Thought that was a very common oil that I could always get from WM.

Can you show me where you get 5 quarts of Amazon Basics Full Synthetic for $14?

Probably not worth it to jeepman. 70 minutes of driving, wild guess says it's $5 in gas alone (gallon there, gallon back?). He'd have to clean the shelves off to make it worth the trip.

Me, I shop at Walmart but it's less than 5 minutes out of my way. Every other store takes more driving and/or special trips. No "real" economic advantage for me.

This. I buy the cheap conventional on Amazon and have prime shipping I use for my side business. WalMart for me is quite a bit of driving, and it is completely out of the way, since my work is in the other direction. The other stores like Advance or Autozone just don't make sense as they are overpriced. For synthetic, I'm starting to use FCP Euro's oil change kits for my family's Euro vehicles, as they cost about $12 for the shipping with the lifetime warranty, and I can walk to the post office from my work. If I'm already at WalMart, I'll grab oil, but for the most part I rarely go there now.

Also as I mentioned they are TERRIBLE about stocking stuff, usually the Supertech and Pennzoil are cleaned out.

Why are you driving 70 minutes when you can buy from their website with free shipping if you buy a couple jugs at a time?

I tried that a few times and out of 3-4 times it only worked out once. The other times the bottles arrived damaged, leaking, incorrect (5w20 vs. 5w30, different brands altogether) and they wanted me to drive to the nearest store to exchange it. I said never again and haven't done it since. Time is valuable to me, and some things just aren't worth the hassle. I'll pay the couple bucks more to have it on my doorstep from Amazon than have to deal with WalMart's BS or the time spent driving back and forth. I do know many people who have success from this site, but I'm thinking a lot of the issues (including lack of restocking) has to do with the management at my local WalMart (or lack thereof).

I have ordered from both WM and Amazon on several occasions never had a leaker. Don't bother buying a Lotto ticket!

Three orders and no leakers yet from Walmart. Most I've purchased per order is two five quart jugs.

And I'm pretty sure that the Amazon oil is the same stuff sold as ST.

PQIA site suggests that they are slightly different formulations though correct?
