Just picked up a couple of the $3.50 air filters for the Crown Vic, been using the NAPA proselect ones for a few years now. Would you all consider them to be practically less effective than say, a Motorcraft, Fram, etc? They seem to be made by WIX, and a cheaper made version of the regular WIX/NAPA Gold.

The new Napa Proselects spec'd for my old Accord now have silicone anti drain back valves... a major plus for the price point.
I view them as a 5k mile filter for my car That's what i'm currently running on it now.
On par with the Motorcraft and Fram PH Extra Guards.

Dud, you're running a Crown Vic.
You could filter it with cheese cloth and it would be fine...

I just replaced the ProSelect air filters in my Accord & Odyssey with WIX equivalents. The WIX & PS have similar p/n but the WIX starts with 4 vs. a 2 on the PS, IIRC.

Filters seem to be identical in construction and held up well In the 2.5 years of use. Inside the air box was clean. The WIX was cheaper by few couple bucks and delivered.

Just realized you were inquiring about "air filters"
