I purchased the Longacre cutter about eight years ago and have no problems with it. One thing I didn't like about it when I first got it was the fact that the cutter wheel rotated on a threaded portion of the axle bolt. Might call it picky but I think things that rotate should do so on a solid journal. Found a socket head cap screw that had a long grip so that the cutter on my tool rotates on a journal. Seems like an engineering faux pas for a well designed cutter.

to be honest I think all these filter cuttings are almost useless as no one ever finds out first what the filter media quality/efficiency is. barring a mechanical failure.
commenys are "looks nice" etc.

These products are all new every year?? They are a revolution!!! Razor blades, mens shirts, TVs, wiper blades, gutter guards, hearing aids... according to the ads. But also all new last year

I had my Snap-On dealer source me one. He found me a fantastic billet aluminum one, don’t know the brand but it’s cut dozens and is anodized red. I paid $20 per week for it. Wife none the wiser since I just kept paying the truck account.

Sure does. I’ve been really happy with it. It’s really solid.

The filter cutter would not cut the hydraulic filters from my Bobcat. But every vehicle oil filter it cut fine.
