is this oil really all that special?
I have a 2009 BMW R1200GS and it is specified for castrol saf-xo ONLY. With the demise of my local dealer, and having had bad luck mail ordering oil, I would like to find a locally available substitute. The final drive uses very little and costs a fortune so kind of risk adverse.. To be safe I change it every rear tire change, which is about 8000 miles, I am at 43k NOW. I have just about used up my final quart, when I went to the final sale they were out. So if the oil is some really special stuff, i will ride about 150 miles each way to get it. but I would rather not.
