Notice you haven't the need for today's thinnest oil. I've been tempted to buy a quart and examine it too.
So you couldn't reduce the urge and bought some of that 0-16.
How was it - when rubbing it between your thumb & forefinger finger-tips? Pretty thin stuff eh?

Hard to even fathom that 0W8 is coming next. Someone will try it in a 20 year-old vehicle too. Can't wait for that new thread.

Yes it is very thin but felt slick. I used 100% 0w16 before, so I know it would be ok to use this blend of leftover oils. Gained about 1.1 mpg. No noticable oil consumption and no metal shavings on my magnetic drain plug. I got this salvage title civic pretty cheap, so I enjoy using it as my guinea pig!

1992 Mercury Capri, wife's cheap little toy.

She broke the windshield over a year ago and it's been quite the saga getting it replaced. I tried to pull one out of a junkyard car, broke it. Found one new from Pilkington Classics, waited three months for it to be made, only for UPS to break it and deny the damage claim. Had a friend custom make one out of polycarbonate, (this friend makes canopies for top fuel cars, like Antron Brown's) and the polycarbonate one didn't fit. Finally had Pilkington make another one and went to pick it up from them in person under a vendor name, since they don't sell retail. Quite the ordeal, but it's fixed now and back on the road with Valvoline Maxlife Synthetic 5w-30 and a K&N HP-1010. No idea how many miles were on the same oil and K&N HP-1008 that came off, but it's been well over a year.

Upsized the oil filter from the 6607 size to the 7317 size, because I can and the same filter fits my XTerra, zero turn mower and the Capri. The old dissected HP-1008 will be posted in the oil filter sub forum soon.

What is weird is I was planning on doing the oil today regardless of mileage, and my wife went to her mom's yesterday (100+ mile round trip) so knew I would be close to 20,000 miles, but no idea I would be exactly 20,000 miles.
This is the 2nd time this has happened to me, when I changed my mom's oil in her Soul, I was at exactly 25,000 miles just by chance.

I am also annoyed that Hyundai does not go over 99 hours on the trip meter. I am at 194 hours, not 94 hours on this change. A little nit pick, but still, how much more would it cost to have added a 3rd digit there?

Man i love an oil change right on my 5k interval. 10k, 15k, 20k etc. Only happened to me once. I'm not crazy enough (yet) to drive around more to make it happen purposely.

2015 Versa Note
92,xxx miles
Out: Supertech 5w-30 and Supertech filter
In: Same

Also changed the trans fluid (manual) with Red Line MT85. The stuff that came out actually looked pretty good after 90k, no darkening and very little metal. I have no doubt the Red Line can go just as long.
