Been Doing an in house test on my 2018 6.2L Ford

Engine has always had the cold start tick 🤔

QS HM 10W-40 has helped that out a ton !!!!

Engine is very quiet now on start up !!!ðŸ‘

I'll be honest, from all the lurking and whatnot I've done around here at BITOG and around the web, I've come to the conclusion that if the car can circulate the oil while it's cold (depending on your area), and that the viscosity at operating temp is reasonably around the range the manufacturer recommends, you'll be fine (as long as it's not some whack-job oil made by gypsies in their backyard).

I'm using 0W-40 Castrol Edge in a car that calls for 10w-30, and it doesn't seem to care.

Glad to hear that it's working out for you OP, and applaud you for being brave enough to experiment!

I'm looking for a 5W-40 for my next oil change. The coldest weather we have here is usually in January and February
