Here's a great Cub Cadet I recently obtained in a package including 2 tractors, a few implements, and an early Johnson trip bucket loader.

Cub Cadets were always purchased "bare bones" and every option was purchased ala carte, which makes these amenities highly sought after in the collector world

This Cub Cadet 100 is LOADED: Lights, fenders, front hub caps, rear wheel weights, creeper gear, hydraulic lift, rear 3 point hitch, and rear axle PTO.

The first Cub Cadets were made in 1961--1963, and the second and third models were introduced in 1964 (Model 70 and 100). A few people didn't want to buy a new mower deck when they upgraded to the new models: 70 and 100. So they made a few special adapter kits to install your 1961-1963 deck onto your new Cub. This Cub comes with a nicely restored timed deck from 1961 and the adapters to run it as well.

Not enough plastic.

Too much metal.

Flimsy axles.

No gear selector guide.

Cheap Gear Box.

No back cushion.

If you want to get rid of it, just let me know. I'd have to borrow a trailer so it would take me a few days from VA to IN.
I know my offer of $250 seems high, but I might could go $275.

grin2

Awesome tractors. I have a 100 I used for pulling. My current workhorse is this 1965 Bolens 1000. I Repowered it a Lifan GX390.

Very nice!

Sad what Cub Cadet, though it is essentially only a trademark at this point, has become...

Same with Bolens. Obsorbed by MTD and is now a Lowes special. At least MTD kept the IH design for a few years and nice to see them still offer a shaft drive.

If maufacturers built products today like your Cub, they would go broke.

The "thinking" man's friend.

Exactly. That's why keeping these machines running is worthwhile. Not every garden tractor made in the 50-60's is worth the effort, but for sure, Cub Cadets are at the top of the over-engineered elite.
I have an affinity for Wheel Horses too....but mostly because they are fairly well built, they are red (which adds to the sex-appeal), they were made locally, and putting on and removing attachments is a breeze.
