Were you one of those kids in school who had to have his mommy cut off the crusts from the bread before he would eat a sandwich?

Heels? I can hear my father speaking: "I paid for a whole loaf of bread, you kids are going to eat the whole loaf before we open another one."

Heels are good with an egg on them. Homemade bread heels are really good when fresh and with some butter.

But I don't care for more than one at a time.

I use the heels for making toast with over-easy eggs. Real butter as a toast-topping.

No unlike yourself I'd walk or ride my bike to the store 20 minutes away and buy another loaf of bread...
I also started making my own lunch when I was 7 years old.

Shoo fly shoo! crackmeup
