New .410 Mossberg for $279. Good deal?

if i were in o.p.'s locale, i.e. california, i would jump on a $279 mossberg 410 shotgun. anyone who doesn't live in an unfree state can't grasp the extra hurdles and expenses of gun ownership and ammo buying. i like 410 handgun specific ammo out of a h&r 410 single, but wonder if o.p. can find it in california. i don't hunt thus 410 for me is a handy home and trunk gun, and a bit pricey to feed but pleasant shotgun familiarization plinker.

If you are still in the market, I have a mossberg in 20 gauge, bought it last year. I looked at the 410 vs 20 gauge at my local range and went with the 20.
I am 5"7, 145lbs, overall a fairly small built guy. Reduced recoil target loads are great, reduced recoil buckshot is very manageable.
Fairly easily available ammo at Academy/Cabela's for me locally.

.410 Buckshot will hit like a .357
