So which one is the highest rank?

-Pennzoil
-Quaker State
-Shell Rotella

Which has better specs and/or additives?

I asked them about this a few months back. Essentially they are very close as both use GTL base oils. I can't confirm this but I believe the Pennzoil line has better cleaning ability and high temperature protection. They differentiate these two lines by emphasizing wear protection for QS and cleanliness with PP (although both do both lol).

Rotella has historically been aimed at the truck market.

Awesome. +1 for Pennzoil

All are great products and I buy on price. Out of the three you could buy on the color of the bottle and the actual performance of products are nearly identical.

Thanks Snagglefoot,

BTW, Shell Helix Ultra = Pennzoil Platinum Euro, for those who don't know.

A very well tested and developed oil, with a few version available.

Another version we get over here is

Shell Helix Ultra 5W-30 ECT, full synthetic (GTL)
ACEA C3; API SN; MB Approval 229.51, 229.31; BMW LL-04; GM dexos2; Chrysler MS-11106

Which I assume will also be turned into SN-Plus soon enough, if not already there.

This will be a good high HTHS (>= 3.5 cP) 5W30 for those who want thicker than regular ILSAC stuff.

Which I believe translates to Pennzoil Euro L over here.
