I have one of those small air compressors that plugs into the cigarette lighter. Compressor works perfectly but the gasket that holds onto the valve stem has worm out thus not making an air tight seal anymore. Can this be "fixed" to where it will function properly? The air hose appears to be permanently crimped to the compressor inside the case as well as the attachment at the end that connects to the tire.

In the event this cannot be fixed in a decent fashion, what does everyone recommend as a good replacement? I always liked to keep one of these in my car.

That's a great idea. The compressor itself is still strong as new. I wrapped a piece of electrical tape around the valve stems to bring my tires up to spec pressure yesterday and it still works perfectly. The recent cold weather made my low tire light come on, and they were all low by a few lbs.
