Like this arrangement on my 2 subarus

Just some residual oil after wiping it down with a paper towel.
 
I thought that was the case but it looked suspicious.

This is the second thread on this. Thanks for the pics. One has to hope it's not a widespread issue.

Absolutely! You're very welcome.

Nope,I honestly can't see anything obvious at all. Only thing I could tell was that there was definitely not an oil trail coming down from the engine onto the oil filter.
 
I had an orange can leak at the seam like that back in the early '80s on a 1975 Civic.
Spotted it at the far end of a road trip, 700+ miles from home.
No more [censored] after that!
 
I put the Accord up on ramps when tonight when I got home from work. No new oil leaking, just what looked like residual oil that I didn't get cleaned up on Saturday. To satisfy my mind,I checked all the torque of the oil pan bolts and oil filter mount, all was well. I can only conclude (and hope!) that in fact it was the filter. There had been no burnt oil smell or anything, therefore there was no oil leaking down from the engine to burn off.
